The handle is made from Moso bamboo, a fast-growing, renewable wood-like grass. The bristles are BPA-free nylon.
Yes — bamboo is firm and smooth enough for daily handling, and as a fast-growing renewable material it needs less new plastic than a standard handle. The bristles, which do the actual cleaning, are still nylon; bamboo replaces the handle, not the bristles.
The same way as any manual toothbrush: brush gently in small circular motions for about two minutes, twice a day, and rinse the bristles thoroughly with water after each use.
Rinse it and shake off excess water after each use, and store it upright in a holder or cup so the bristle head can air-dry between uses. Keeping the handle dry helps it last through its full replacement cycle.
